Job Description: Project Manager – Data Centre Migration
Location: Tokyo, Japan
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex data centre migration projects. The successful candidate will oversee planning, execution, and completion of migration initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations while meeting cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end project management for data centre migration, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, network, application, security, vendors) to ensure seamless migration.
• Develop detailed project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee vendor and third-party service providers, ensuring deliverables meet contractual obligations.
• Drive post-migration validation, performance testing, and documentation.
• Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, with a strong track record in data centre migration projects.
Familiarity with infrastructure technologies: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English; Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and manage stakeholders across regions.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with hybrid cloud migration (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
• Prior work experience in Japan or APAC region.
