This job posting is for a position in the Point Business Development Department, Platform Strategy Supervisory Department, which is part of a corporate organization directly under the COO and Vice President. We are looking for someone to handle back-office operations in this department. However, we are not seeking someone to simply perform back-office tasks. Instead, we are looking for a proactive individual who can contribute to the expansion of Rakuten Group's ecosystem through their work in the department.

The department includes professionals from various fields, such as strategy, sales, marketing, and operation teams. It also provides an environment where you can work closely with the company's management. The Platform Strategy Supervisory Department is not involved in the operation of specific services. Instead, it focuses on growth strategies and initiatives for the Rakuten Group's ecosystem, primarily through cross-functional marketing efforts.

Position Details
The scope of work for organizational management section

You will support the Director of the Platform Strategy Supervisory Department , a division directly under the COO and Vice President, which is responsible for promoting growth strategies and initiatives for the Rakuten Group's ecosystem as a whole.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • General secretarial duties such as managing the director's schedule, arranging meetings, and organizing business trips
  • Preparing meeting materials and organizing data
  • Coordinating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing project progress and providing support
  • Other general support tasks to ensure the director's work proceeds smoothly

Platform Strategy Supervisory Department

Information About The Assigned Department
The Platform Strategy Department consists of approximately 70 members, with a roughly equal gender ratio and an average age in the early 30s.

More than half of the members are mid-career hires, making this a workplace with a well-established system, environment, and opportunities for mid-career professionals to thrive.

Our department has a proven track record of hiring professionals transitioning from strategic consulting, the IT industry, platform companies, startups, telecommunications companies, and content management companies.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Japanese language proficiency at a business level or higher
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience
  • IT Skills: Practical experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at a professional level

In addition to the above, we require experience in at least one of the following:

  • Experience in secretarial work (e.g., scheduling, arranging meetings, preparing documents, etc.)
  • The ability to understand the overall flow of business and provide support to the department head with a comprehensive perspective

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills to smoothly coordinate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in business operations or involvement in projects (e.g., project management, sales planning, business promotion, etc.)
  • Secretarial experience supporting senior executives (department head level or above) is a plus
  • Business-level English proficiency (both spoken and written)
