Substance is partnering with a fast-growing, innovative company in Tokyo to hire a Chief of Staff. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic leader who can work closely with the executive team, drive cross-functional initiatives, and optimize organizational effectiveness. As Chief of Staff, you'll be instrumental in shaping company strategy, aligning team goals, and ensuring that the CEO and senior leadership are empowered to achieve key objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, supporting decision-making and high-impact projects.
- Lead cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment and progress across departments.
- Oversee internal operations, identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and foster a positive work environment.
- Manage executive communications, prepare reports, and ensure effective information flow between departments.
- Support in strategic planning, performance monitoring, and prioritization of key initiatives.
- Represent the executive team in internal and external meetings when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in strategic roles, consulting, or business operations, with proven experience managing high-level projects.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively with senior leaders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in both English and Japanese is a plus, given the cross-functional and executive-facing nature of the role.
