PLEASE NOTE: All must be available for face to face interviews in Japan or have a valid working visa for Japan
Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our dynamic and diverse team in Tokyo, Japan. This is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Data Engineering. As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain data models, reports, and analytics that support our mission to create seamless and innovative payment experiences.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
Data Documentation and Cataloging:
- Document data models and data flow diagrams to ensure clarity and accessibility.
Report Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with business, financial, and regulatory stakeholders to design meaningful reports.
- Develop and implement reports using SQL and Python.
Data Quality and Monitoring:
- Cleanse and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor the performance of source domain data systems and identify areas for improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product and business leaders to provide insights that inform product design and features.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in leveraging data to achieve business objectives.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data models, pipelines, and querying data.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis and reporting.
Communication Skills:
- Business-level English is required.
- Conversational or higher proficiency in Japanese is preferred.
Analytical and Documentation Skills:
- Ability to analyze business needs and document requirements effectively.
Eligibility:
- Must be eligible to work in Japan.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day as a Data Analyst will involve:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Designing and implementing data models and reports to support business objectives.
- Monitoring data systems for performance and quality, and addressing any issues proactively.
- Participating in team discussions to align on goals and share progress.
- Continuously learning and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
