The Opportunity:

The Fisher Investments Japan (FIJ) Client Operations Analyst will be responsible for managing all aspects relating to Japanese institutional client operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, in this role you will work directly with institutional clients and prospective clients, trust banks and custodians, and internal departments to carry out the demands of the sales and client service efforts in Japan.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Research and resolve operational issues pertaining to Japanese institutional investor accounts making independent decisions on resolutions

  • Oversee additions, withdrawals, and changes for institutional investors

  • Coordinate unique/ complex reporting requirements

  • Oversee operational tasks with high complexity through to completion

  • Onboard new Japanese accounts and liaison between internal teams

  • Communicate with trust banks, custodians and other vendors to support client cash flows and requests

  • Understand and monitor institutional compliance issues including: unique codes of ethics and internal requirements

  • Responsible for properly handling sensitive and/or confidential information/documents

  • Oversee the creation, development, documentation and implementation of operational workflows and process improvements in serving the needs of institutional investors

  • Provide quality assurance checks for other team members to prevent negative client impact

Your Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education/experience

  • Fluent in business English and Japanese

  • 5+ years operational experience

  • Experience working in the Japanese asset management industry

  • Outstanding analytical, communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work autonomously, in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and prioritize large workloads
