Department Overview
The development of a new data business utilizing Rakuten's unique big data (Data Solution Business) was launched in January 2023.
In recent years, marketing research issues have become more sophisticated and complex as people's lives have become more diverse. The goal is to provide new value to customers in their overall marketing process by making complex use of more than 100 million pieces of big data connected by a common ID within the Rakuten Group.

We are driving the development of innovative data solutions, combining insights obtained from Rakuten Group's big data and Rakuten Insight's marketing research. We are looking for talent who can plan and promote data development and platform development to support these advanced initiatives, and contribute to the growth of our business.
Position Details
To promote the development of data solutions that integrate the big data held by Rakuten Group and the perceptual data from marketing research, we are seeking individuals who can take on one or multiple of the following three roles:
1. Planning and development of marketing research systems
- Planning and development of research-related systems suitable for integration of research data and big data
- Development of solutions using AI technologies such as natural language processing, image recognition, and voice recognition
2. Planning, development, and sales promotion of large-scale perceptual data
- Planning and development of large-scale perceptual data suitable for customer needs
- Planning and development of solutions based on large-scale perceptual data
3. Efficiency and innovation of research processes (data collection, analysis, report creation, etc.) using AI
- Investigation of the latest research results related to AI and their application in practice
- Management of the entire process from requirement definition, design, implementation, testing, and operation of AI projects
Work Environment
The Data Solutions Department is divided into five sections, each of which has sales functions and product development functions corresponding to specific customer segments. This integrated manufacturing and sales organizational design allows us to directly reflect customer needs into our products, which is a significant strength and appeal of ours. The team is primarily composed of individuals in their 20s and 30s, and we foster an environment where new ideas and opinions can be freely exchanged with respectful, flat communication.
The backgrounds of those who have joined our company mid-career are diverse, with individuals from a wide range of industries thriving in our environment.
Mandatory Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Practical experience in marketing research or related fields
- Experience in proposing research plans to clients, conducting analysis, reporting, and presenting findings
- Practical experience in designing, analyzing, and reporting data
- Knowledge and practical experience in AI and machine learning
- Project management experience in system development
- Excellent communication skills and experience in team collaboration
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in utilizing AI (particularly generative AI) to design new data analysis operations
- Experience in using data analysis and visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Skills in data visualization
- Strong interest in and willingness to learn about new technologies
- Deep understanding of big data technologies

If no evidence is available to prove the qualifications denoted above, taking an IP test, organized by Rakuten, during selection process is required.
