Q1:これまでどのような業務に携わってきたか?
入社してから1年半の間、複数の海外市場での新規事業開発(主に太陽光、陸上風力、蓄電池)に携わり、他社が開発中の案件に参画するためのデューディリジェンスや事業性評価、案件参画後のパートナーとの共同での事業開発にプロジェクトマネージャーとして全面的に関わっています。
現在は主に米国市場の案件を担当しています。
関わってきた市場はいずれも当社にとって新しい市場なので、社内に知見が無いことが多々ありますが、1つ1つ手探りでクリアにしながら、社内メンバー、事業パートナー、外部アドバイザーと日々議論を重ねて課題を解決していくプロセスを楽しみながら業務にあたっています。
Q2:レノバを選んだ理由は?
私は1社目の日系大手企業で海外IPP事業、2社目の外資系日本法人で国内洋上風力事業を経験し、3社目のレノバに入社しました。電力(IPP)業界内での転職を続けていますが、直近の転職にあたっては、最初の2社での経験も踏まえつつ、市場環境の変化に合わせた柔軟な事業開発の戦略を取ることのできる環境であること、年齢や経験に因らず活躍の機会があること、といったカルチャーを重視しており、面接等を通じて当社はこの要件に合致する会社だと感じて入社を決めました。
このような要素を重視していたのは、採用時点で決められた事業にしか関与できない外資系日本法人における制約や日系大手での年功序列で業務内容が決まる環境を経験していたことによります。
また、業務内容の面では海外の事業開発に携わり、案件を実際に建設開始や運転開始のフェーズまでもっていくプロセスを主導したいと考えており、この点も海外での事業拡大を目指している当社を選んだ理由の1つです。
Q3:レノバの特徴は?
レノバの特徴として感じることは、プロジェクトの実現のために社内メンバーで一丸となって協力する姿勢が強く、部署の垣根が良い意味で低いと感じます。
また、ファイナンス、法務、エンジニアリング・調達等のより専門性が必要な部門にはその分野での経験が豊富な方が多く在籍しており、よりジェネラリスト的な立ち回りが多くなる開発部門に所属している私としては日々勉強させて頂く機会も大変多いです。
レノバを選んだ理由として上で述べた柔軟な事業開発戦略、年齢や経験に因らず活躍の機会があること、については実際に期待通りだったと感じています。
入社してから1年間という短いスパンで3つの異なる国での事業開発を検討し、その中で将来の展開を見通しづらいマーケットはタイムリーに撤退の判断を行う一方で、新規参画を決めたプロジェクトにおいては当社マネジメントと参画方針を協議しながら同時並行的に交渉相手との交渉を進めるなど、スピード感のある経験を数多くしてきました。
また、30代前半で入社1年未満という経歴でも、事業の責任者として社内の役員会でプレゼンを行ったり、対外的にもパートナーとの交渉を行ったりと重要な業務をこなすことができ、このような業務をこなす中で日々成長を感じながら業務にあたることができています。
