The new hire will be working in the Business Innovation Department of Rakuten Group, Inc. and Rakuten Stay, Inc. at the same time.
In the Commerce & Marketing Company, the Business Innovation Department is mainly engaged in travel-related services, such as lodging business, accommodation reservation sites and accommodation distribution services.
And,Rakuten STAY, Inc. is developing accommodation facilities under the name of "Rakuten STAY" with the following concept: [Brand Purpose] "Rakuten STAY" is the name of the company's accommodation facilities.

Department Overview
Rakuten Stay, Inc.'s Legal Department provides legal support for the opening of new lodging facilities and the launch of new services in close cooperation with the various staff members in charge of the lodging business to ensure its further growth. We are able to be involved in the fast-paced and dynamic business development from a legal perspective.
In addition, as a business related to the Business Innovation Department, we provide legal services for Rakuten Travel Xchange Pte. Ltd. which is based in Singapore and provides accommodation inventory distribution services globally.
In addition, as we are actively considering acquisitions as a new business, we will also provide legal support for all aspects of M&A, including PMI.

We must be able to organize issues related to existing operations or new service design in line with objectives, organize contractual relationships, and lead to solutions in a speedy and proactive manner while involving all parties involved.
In addition to contract review and drafting, you can be involved in a wide range of activities, including legal advice for new services and new businesses, depending on your experience and wishes.
Specific duties (excerpts)
Review and draft contracts (including contracts in English)
Provide legal advice and risk management for new services and businesses.
Planning and implementation of in-house education and awareness-raising related to legal affairs and compliance
Planning and implementation of in-house education and awareness-raising activities related to legal affairs and compliance.
Management of internal organization activities related to institutional legal affairs
General contract administration
Planning and implementation of internal training and education related to legal affairs and compliance.
Development of internal rules, guidelines, etc.
Support for business reform
Mandatory Qualifications:
Legal work experience (3 years or more)
Strong communication skills with stakeholders
Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Desired Qualifications:
Experience in legal work related to the travel and hotel industry
Experience in reviewing contracts in English
Legal experience in land development and construction related business
