About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading global engineering and technology solutions organization in Japan. This position involves designing, developing, and improving mechanical parts and process chambers for advanced dry etching equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams in mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation, contributing to the development of next-generation products and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and draft mechanical parts and process chambers for dry etching equipment using 2D and 3D CAD tools.
- Conduct mechanical development and design, including analysis, testing, and product evaluation.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, and support equipment improvement initiatives.
- Execute experiments and verification activities to validate designs and ensure performance.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams for equipment enhancement, troubleshooting, and design optimization.
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects to enhance product functionality and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design within the automotive, semiconductor, or engineering industries.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in 2D CAD design and drafting.
- Proven ability to improve and optimize designs beyond routine engineering tasks.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or above.
- Must be a Japanese citizen or hold valid work authorization in Japan.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling using Solid Edge, UG NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Creo.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals such as materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and mechanical dynamics.
- Experience with simulation or structural analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter or other PLM systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
