Analytics Engineer - senior
■ Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of our Data Modeling and Analytics initiatives, focusing primarily on hands-on development (80%), research & innovation (10%), and technical leadership (10%).
In this role, you will:
Lead the implementation of Data Vault models and automated transformation pipelines.
Mentor team members and work closely with Data Modelers and Data Analysts to ensure alignment with analytical needs.
Act as a bridge between data modeling, analytics development, and technical leadership to deliver cutting-edge data solutions while upholding data quality, privacy, industry standards, efficiency, and maintainability.
Drive business-focused solutions within project timelines, managing complex dependencies across multiple stakeholders.
Oversee technical delivery, balancing innovation with practical implementation and ensuring projects meet business priorities and time-to-market requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Development (80%)
Design and implement scalable data transformation workflows using DBT (Data Build Tool) and modern data modeling practices.
Lead the development of Data Vault models and silver-layer core data products to support dimensional modeling in the gold layer.
Architect and implement automated data transformation pipelines optimized for large-scale data processing.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring version-controlled CI/CD/CO pipelines.
Establish robust testing and validation frameworks for data quality assurance.
Build deployment pipelines that adhere to segregation of duties principles.
Coordinate with the Ops team for pre-production and production deployments.
2. Research & Innovation (10%)
Explore emerging technologies and architectural patterns in analytics engineering.
Assess and prototype new tools to enhance the scalability of data modeling efforts.
Present technical proposals and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to leadership.
Author technical documentation and design proposals for data modeling enhancements.
Investigate automation tools to streamline Data Vault implementation.
3. Technical Leadership (10%)
Provide mentorship to team members and conduct critical code reviews.
Lead technical design discussions and architecture review sessions.
Work closely with Data Modelers and Data Analysts to align data models with business requirements and available data sources.
Share expertise through documentation, workshops, and technical presentations.
■ Experience and Qualifications
1. Technical Skills & Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or an equivalent role.
Expert-level proficiency in DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling.
Deep expertise in Data Vault methodology and dimensional modeling.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Data Warehouse development (Databricks preferred, Snowflake, BigQuery).
Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform preferred).
Proven expertise in data pipeline orchestration tools.
Strong background in version control systems (GitHub, AWS CodeCommit preferred) and CI/CD/CO best practices.
Demonstrated success in leading complex technical initiatives.
2. Behavioral Competencies
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Proven leadership in technical decision-making.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experienced in mentoring and guiding technical team members.

Business-level English proficiency required.
Japanese language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
