Engineering Manager

■ Your Role and Responsibilities
Lead and oversee a global engineering team, fostering a structure that consistently delivers high-quality software solutions.
Drive long-term organizational growth by enhancing the productivity and development of the engineering division, with a forward-looking perspective of 3–5 years.
Identify and proactively resolve both technical and organizational challenges that arise from platform and team expansion.
Take ownership of project management for high-priority initiatives at the department or divisional level.
Align development roadmaps and organizational planning with a deep understanding of company-wide strategy and the needs of platform-utilizing products.
Partner with fellow managers to address cross-functional and cross-company issues.
Perform people management tasks such as regular 1-on-1 meetings, monthly check-ins, and biannual performance evaluations.
Nurture and develop future leaders to ensure the sustainable growth of the company and its operations.
Execute all of the above responsibilities effectively using English.
■ Experience and Qualifications
Experience working in a web application development environment
Proven track record of managing teams of 5 or more engineers, including mentoring and performance evaluations
Involvement in or responsibility for making major technical decisions within a team
Strong development background and design experience to support and advocate for engineers' needs
Project leadership experience involving multiple stakeholders, teams of 10+, and durations of six months or more
Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders such as product managers and sales teams
Participation in engineer recruitment activities
Business-level English proficiency (see requirements below)

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience building and maintaining developer platforms
Familiarity with web application development using Ruby on Rails or Golang
Knowledge of systems leveraging AWS S3 at scale
Understanding of file system permission architecture
Leadership experience with multinational engineering teams
Business-level proficiency in Japanese
Experience in AI development or applying AI tools to improve engineering workflows
