Tasks

Customs Processing

  • Understanding and improving the interface between the MAHLE plant operations, transport management and (3PL) forwarders for customs- / export- / import processing
  • Conducting walkthroughs and workshops with the MAHLE entities in Japan (and SEA) and identifying potentials for simplification and improvement (processes and cost)
  • Consultation partner for special cases and organizational trainer

Export Controls

  • Supporting MAHLE entities in Japan (and SEA) in the implementation and improvement of existing Export Control Processes (following US, national and EU regulation)
  • Conduct regular trainings and audits with the entities
  • Partner in identifying and implementing simplification and improvement potentials. Consultation partner for the business side

Other

  • Ad hoc / regular tasks as required (e.g. Sanction Screening, Coordination etc)
  • Preparation of materials for management meetings and creation of process comparisons
    Creation and monitoring of scorecards/KPI's
  • Point of contact and support for plant teams in Japan/SEA for the introduction of a new SAP GTS version (S4 HANA / GTS) 

Education and experience level

  • University Bachelor degree or above
  • Previous working experience in the field (e.g. 3PL, Trading business or import/export department within manufacturing industry)
    • Deep Knowledge and hands-on experience for customs processing and Japan's regulations (and FTA's) for customs import / export processing (other countries in Asia is a plus)
    • Knowledge of Japan and US regulations for Export Controls (EU is a plus)
    • Knowledge on Key Export Control Topics like Sanctioned Party Screening (End user list), Embargoes, End Usage, US (Re-) Export Controls, Classification and Technology Transfer

Language Skills and Qualifications

  • Japanese as mother tongue and business English language skills
  • Professional Exams in the Customs Field like Licensed Customs Broker or Export Control Field like STC Advanced / Expert are a plus
  • Experience in SAP R/3/HANA (SD/MM) and SAP GTS is a plus
