Job Title: MathWorks Training Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MathWorks Training Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering product training courses for MATLAB and Simulink to customers worldwide.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for education and training to work with customers in various engineering and scientific applications. As a MathWorks Training Engineer, you will spend approximately 7-10 days per month presenting training courses to our customers, with the remaining time dedicated to course preparation, customization, development of new material, and collaboration with other teams within MathWorks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering High-Quality Training Courses: You will deliver training courses using an approach that provides value to the course delegates, allowing them to understand and utilize the full capabilities of MathWorks products.
- Customizing Training Material: You will work with customers to gather requirements for customized training courses and prepare the necessary material, utilizing existing course content whenever possible.
- Reviewing and Providing Feedback: You will review new training course material and provide feedback to the developer via training delivery and communication with global team members.
- Developing Training Materials: You will create training materials, including presentation slides, programs, application examples, and simulation models, which showcase best practices and highlight important features and capabilities of MathWorks products.
- Accountability and Quality Assurance: You will be accountable for the quality of your work, meeting deadlines, and managing the level of effort required for each task, including submitting trip or training reports.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
- Working experience with programming languages such as C, Java, and C++ is beneficial
- Industry experience using MATLAB/Simulink (or similar products) is highly valued
- Familiarity with MBD workflows for specific applications
- Formal presentation or training delivery experience is advantageous
- Passion for education and teaching
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese
- Business-level English communication skills (TOEIC 650 or equivalent)
Location:
The ideal location for this role is Japan, with opportunities to travel throughout Asia and work with global teams.
Estimated Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
