Job Summary:
We're seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to accelerate the creation and deployment of machine-learning-based solutions to real-world business problems. This manager will empower a diverse team of ML engineers and researchers by setting ambitious goals aligned towards a product roadmap and managing successful delivery.
Successful candidates will join a highly-skilled, growing team of ML engineers and scientists using modern software engineering techniques, coding practices, and technologies. The team combines data engineering, machine learning engineering, and DevOps engineering using modern technologies like PyTorch, Docker, Knative, Kafka, Kubernetes, Nvidia Triton, Github Actions, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
This position reports directly to the CTO and joins a Research and Development leadership team driven to innovate and solve.
Job Responsibilities
- Leading, empowering, and managing a diverse team towards individual and collective goals.
- Ensuring organizational health by fostering growth of team members.
- Working with other cross-functional teams and leaders to drive the product roadmap.
- Contributing to designing and implementing full model development cycles: data collection, labeling, model development, experimentation, training, testing, and deployment in production.
- Maintaining good coding and engineering practices to keep the codebase sane.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience managing engineers, scientists, or researchers.
- Professional experience in designing, implementing, training, and deploying machine learning models for business applications.
- Excellent collaboration skills for effective communication with other departments and leaders within the company.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Practical knowledge of MLOps principles and technologies, and DevOps in general (data and model storage and versioning, model training at scale, model serving at scale).
- Japanese Business level.
