Tokyo Amazon Japan G.K. Full time
The Amazon Japan Consumer Innovation team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to drive business strategy and customer experience for After Market Services (AMS). AMS is our reverse logistics business managing strategy and flow of customer returns and unsellable products. Once products are returned, AMS utilizes strategic thinking and machine learning to identify the best route for the product, in order to recover the maximum cost, whilst ensuring the best customer experience. Products deemed no longer sellable as new are graded and routed to appropriate alternative channels, including Warehouse Deals, liquidations, recycle and donate. The Senior PM owns the strategy, operations and processes behind these pathways.

You will be responsible for developing innovative Think Big products and solutions that drive long-term and sustainable impact for customers, product optimization and program simplification of manual processes, systems configurations, and management of external liquidation vendors. AMS partners closely with Category teams, Customer Service, Transportation, and Fulfilment Center Operations teams. The team owns cost reduction and free cash flow goals, and impacts our customer experience and our cost-to-serve customers.

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong stakeholder management and communication skills, excellent analytical and operational experience, and experience in inventing new products as well as simplifying existing products and processes. You will have the ability to see the full picture, to view how upstream and downstream programs and dependencies affect your work, and collaborate closely with these partner teams to collective drive impact for customers. You will have high visibility with VP and Director level leadership from Japan Retail, Japan Operations, and Worldwide Operations.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop the vision and strategy for new After Market Services products and key features, outline business requirements for scalable solutions, and oversee implementation, launch, and post-launch performance.
- Work closely with category business teams, customer service, operations, tech and other partner teams to understand customer needs and solve complex problems.
- Identify core business challenges and needs via deep research and analysis.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and judgement in an ambiguous environment.
- Lead multiple workstreams from ideation through to development, implementation, launch, and scaling.
- Make smart tradeoffs, coordinate dependencies, and maintain communication with stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Strong communication skills in Japanese and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong understanding of the business aspects of technology and operations, with an enthusiasm for metrics and analysis to achieve business goals.
