Department Overview

"Rakuten24" is one of the few direct-to-consumer e-commerce platforms operated by Rakuten, specializing in a wide range of products including daily necessities, food, beverages, cosmetics, baby products, pet supplies, and healthcare items. Through this platform, we aim to drive the growth of Rakuten Ichiba and the broader Rakuten Group.


This unique platform offers opportunities to engage in comprehensive decision-making processes, including direct marketing to end-users, product assortment, and supply chain management.

The FMCG Customer Strategy Section is dedicated to addressing challenges through data-driven strategies for both Rakuten24 and Rakuten Ichiba.

Our primary mission is to increase the user base of Rakuten24, including attracting new users and re-engaging former users, as well as implementing strategies to enhance ARPU (Average Revenue Per User).


Rakuten 24, which is used by a vast number of users, offers a significant scale, and there are many growth opportunities precisely because it's an industry with a rapid pace of change.

By leading user acquisition initiatives and sales promotions for Rakuten 24, you can contribute to the short-term and long-term sales growth of Rakuten Ichiba, the core of Rakuten Group.

You can closely collaborate with other departments beyond Rakuten 24, leading events and projects in partnership, thereby developing skills such as strategic planning, execution drive, and coordination, in addition to planning capabilities.

Based on diverse user behavior and product data, you can create new value through your unique ideas and insights.

You will work in an environment where you can take charge of the entire process, from strategy formulation to initiative execution.

Position Details


As a Planning, Execution, and Management Lead, you will be responsible for consistently driving the entire process, from data analysis and campaign planning to promotion implementation.

Main duties

Formulating campaign strategies and planning based on user analysis.
Forecasting campaign effectiveness and managing actual results.
Monitoring campaign results and cost-effectiveness (ROI).
Creative Direction (concept-driven direction for creative production including ad copy, design, and video content).

Manage and execute advertising campaigns, including the operation of performance-based ads (Google Display Ads, Meta Ads), and develop user journey plans.

Leading internal and external stakeholders to execute initiatives.
Ensuring promotions comply with relevant laws (e.g., Premiums and Representations Act) and internal company regulations.

Organizational Structure

Our team consists of eight men and two women.

Roughly half are mid-career and half are new graduates.


This is a highly motivated team that is not bound by past practices and is open to new endeavors, so your proactive actions will be reflected in many of the decisions you make.

Mandatory Qualifications

You should have experience and/or qualities in at least one of the following areas

Experience in planning, proposing, and executing marketing initiatives.
Experience in formulating and implementing feasible ideas based on facts and data.
Experience in engaging internal and external stakeholders to lead projects to success.
A strong will to achieve goals and the perseverance to continue challenging until results are obtained.
Ability to generate ideas from new perspectives and approaches, unconstrained by existing frameworks.

Desired Qualifications

Basic quantitative analysis skills (e.g., interpreting data, identifying trends, measuring the effectiveness of initiatives).
Experience in data extraction and aggregation using SQL.
Experience in creative concept design and direction.
Ability to manage progress and solve problems when multiple initiatives are running concurrently.
Experience in applying analytical and problem-solving skills to business challenges.
Continuous catch-up and knowledge update on digital marketing trends.
Project management experience.
Knowledge and practical experience in the e-commerce domain.
Experience in programmatic advertising.
Work experience at an advertising agency.
