Role Overview

They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead (Web / Backend) to drive backend engineering initiatives and provide technical leadership within product development teams.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build scalable backend services, improve system performance, and deliver high-impact features.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy owning systems end-to-end and contributing to team growth through technical mentorship.

Mission

・Design, develop, and optimize backend systems with high reliability and scalability

・Establish engineering best practices and improve development workflows

・Ensure engineering quality and long-term maintainability while maximizing product value

Key Responsibilities

・Lead backend system architecture, implementation, and performance optimization

・Translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions

・Design and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and quality standards

・Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members

・Drive architectural discussions and technical decision-making across projects

Salary

Annual Salary : JPY 8,000,000 – 18,000,000 per year

Monthly Salary : From JPY 667,000

・Includes a fixed overtime allowance for up to 30 hours per month

・Overtime exceeding 30 hours is compensated separately

・Final compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and role fit

Qualifications

*Required

・Strong alignment with the company's mission and product vision

・Solid experience in backend development using statically typed languages and relational databases

・Experience working in engineering teams of 5 or more members

・Strong understanding of software quality, code maintainability, and testing practices

・Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Performance-focused system design and optimization

Improving development productivity through tooling or automation

Practical application of data structures and algorithms

*Preferred

・Experience with Go and cloud-native application development

・Experience leading technical decisions or system architecture design

・Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, or microservices

・Hands-on experience building and operating production systems on public cloud platforms

・Ability to navigate and improve large-scale, complex codebases

Work Environment

*Work Style

・Hybrid work model : (In principle: 3 days in office / 2 days remote per week)

Fixed in-office days : Monday, Friday (One additional in-office day is selected from Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)

・Fully remote work is not standard, but flexible arrangements may be discussed depending on individual circumstances

・Office located in central Tokyo (multiple lines available)

・No core hours (work between 7:00-22:00)

・Standard working time: 8 hours per day
