一般社団法人クライメート・ダイアログは、気候変動とその解決策を社会の議論の中心に押し上げ、 実際の対策を加速させることを目指す非営利組織です。世界 20 カ国以上・約 400 名の気候変動・エネ ルギー・自然分野のコミュニケーション専門家によるグローバル戦略コミュニケーション評議会 (GSCC)の日本代表部を務めています。

クライメート・ダイアログは、政策や経済を実際に動かす力を持つ、ナラティブの創出に力を注いで います。

ポジション概要

「どう語れば、人が動くか?」を問い、問題解決に向けた議論の流れをつくる仕事です。

問題解決のために新しく革新的な方法を自ら模索する意欲、創造性、経験を糧に、最後までやり抜く 力のある人を求めています。

気候変動やエネルギー問題に関する公共的な議論を促進するための戦略コミュニケーション活動を、 リーダーシップをもって企画・実行いただきます。国内外のメディアや政策決定者、世論との連携を 通じて、社会全体の理解と行動を後押しする役割を担います。

日本ディレクターの下、国際ネットワークの同僚と連携しながら、少数精鋭の成長中チームの一員と して、活躍していただきます。

主な職務内容

戦略・計画

• 日本の全体戦略に沿ったコミュニケーション戦略の策定
• 新たな機会や外部環境の変化に対応する柔軟なアプローチの設計
• 日本の全体戦略立案への貢献

実行・管理

• 目標に沿った戦略コミュニケーション施策の実行、ナラティブやメッセージの設計と発信
• 世論・政治的議論への介入タイミングと方法について適切な判断を下し、機会を捉える
• グローバルネットワーク(GSCC など)との連携・共同プロジェクトの推進、オーディエンス別 のコンテンツを日本に適用
• チームメンバーのマネジメントおよび評価や改善点の確認
• 外部パートナーとの協働、進行管理
• プロジェクト予算管理、資金ニーズの特定および資金調達活動への貢献
• 国際会議・国際電話会議への参加

関係構築・維持・連携

• 主要パートナー団体やステークホルダーとの関係構築・維持、戦略的アドバイスの提供
• メディア、ジャーナリストや編集者との関係構築・維持
• スポークスパーソンや発信者の発掘・育成・ネットワークの構築

必須要件(Must)

• 学士以上の学位、あるいはそれと同等の実務経験
• 社会人経験8年以上
• チームマネジメントやプロジェクトマネジメントの実務経験
• 日本語が母語であり、かつ英語での情報収集・ライティング・会話が業務レベルで可能 (TOEIC 850 点相当以上が目安)。実務での使用経験があれば尚可。
• 気候変動や脱炭素に関する知識を自ら学び、更新し、継続的に社会における議論を把握する能 力
• PowerPoint や Word などを用いた資料作成がスムーズに行える
• Zoom、Slack、Google Workspace を活用し、変化の速い多様な業務環境で力を発揮できる適応 力

About the organization

Climate Dialogue Japan
is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing climate change and its solutions at the center of public and media discourse and accelerating concrete actions on the ground. We serve as the Japan representative of GSCC, a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate change, energy, and nature.

Climate Dialogue Japan focuses on creating narratives that have the power to change conversations. We collaborate with partners across academia, industry, civil society, finance, local government, and international organizations, putting the cause of climate change before any institutional interest.

By identifying challenges that have not yet been adequately addressed and connecting stakeholders through our unique strategic communications role, we support society-wide efforts to tackle problems that no single organization can solve alone.

Climate change lies at the root of all societal challenges while its solutions simultaneously hold the key to new socio-economic development. This is a problem that can never be postponed.

Position Overview

Senior Associate is the role that will develop communications strategies for Japan based on our theory of change to generate impacts. You will lead the planning and execution of strategic communications activities to increase political and media attention and accelerate actions in the real world.

In this role, you will grow a wide network of partners to create and engage in media opportunities in Japan and build strategic relationships with leaders and stakeholders across industry, policy, and media spheres. You will devise and deliver projects and campaigns, providing strategic advice, communications and outreach support to partners. Working as part of a global network of communications experts, you will enhance the public debate on climate change and its solutions through maintaining trusted relationships with key journalists and stakeholders in Japan.

Working under the Japan Director, you will thrive as part of a small but growing team of dedicated professionals.

We are looking for a highly driven person with the motivation to independently explore innovative methods for problem-solving, armed with creativity and experience, and the determination to see things through to completion.

How you'll contribute

Strategy & Planning

• Develop communications strategies aligned with Japan's overall strategy;
• Design flexible approaches that respond to new opportunities and external environmental changes;
• Contribute to the formulation of Japan's overall strategy.

Implementation & Management

• Execute strategic communications activities aligned with objectives, design and disseminate narratives and messages;
• Make appropriate judgements on timing and methods for intervening in public and media debates, seizing opportunities as they arise;
• Collaborate with global networks, adapting audience-specific content for Japan;
• Manage team members and evaluate progress and areas for improvement;
• Collaborate with external partners and manage project progress;
• Manage project budgets, identify funding needs, and contribute to fundraising activities;
• Participate in international conferences and calls.

Relationship Building, Maintenance & Collaboration

• Build and maintain relationships with key partner organizations and stakeholders, providing strategic advice;
• Build and maintain relationships with media, journalists, and editors;
• Identify, develop, and build networks of spokespeople and communicators;
• Collaborate with digital teams.

Information Gathering & Analysis

• Gather and analyze information on domestic and international climate and energy policies;
• Continuously monitor Japan's political and media debates to identify communication opportunities;
• Serve as a source of information about Japan for partner organizations and global networks;
• Commission necessary research and analysis.

Reporting & Evaluation

• Monitor, evaluate, and report on outcomes.

Essential requirements (Must have):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience;
• 8+ years of professional experience;
• Proven experience in team management and project management;
• Residence in Japan, with eligibility to work legally in the country;
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency for research, writing, and communication (TOEIC 850+ preferred). Professional English experience is an advantage;
• Strong ability to independently research and stay current on climate change and decarbonization topics, with keen awareness of evolving public discourse;
• Proficiency in creating materials using PowerPoint, Word, and similar applications;
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic work environments using collaborative tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Google Workspace.

Nice to have:

• Experience in policy advocacy, media relations, communications strategy, or campaign design;
• Understanding of and experience in organizational management;
• Experience working in mission-driven environments such as nonprofits, NGOs, foundations, international organizations, or social impact initiatives;
• Knowledge of climate change and energy issues.
