Skills And Competencies

Extensive Analytical & Research Expertise:
Over 10 years in analytical, research, or credit risk management preferred

Sector Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Japanese Financial Institutions (banks, insurers), regulatory environment, and trends like digitalization, private credit and sustainable finance

Language Proficiency:
Fully bilingual in English and Japanese with exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Writing & Presentation Skills:
Ability to articulate complex credit issues clearly; strong research writing and superior presentation skills

Organizational & Project Management:
Disciplined, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a collaborative environment

Personal Attributes:
Ambitious, proactive, critical thinker, and effective team player

Responsibilities

Managing a portfolio of high-profile Japanese financial institutions, including insurance companies, banks and finance companies
Managing all aspects of the ratings process such as staying abreast of company, industry and regulatory developments and conducting timely ratings actions
Writing insightful and thought-provoking research reports on individual companies and industry sectors. Balancing research responsibilities with daily transaction and surveillance activities is a critical part of the job
Communicating views effectively with internal and external stakeholders is essential
Building and maintaining relationships with high-profile senior corporate executives, investors, and intermediaries
Participating in Moody's and external conferences to enhance Moody's market relevance

About The Team And Role

The Financial Institutions Group team is responsible for delivering high-quality credit ratings and research across the banking sector.

As VP–Senior Analyst, you will report to the Associate Managing Director for Moody's Financial Institutions ratings, based in Singapore.

The role involves close collaboration with the Moody's Global Financial Institutions team members to foster critical thinking, healthy scepticisms and a proactive approach to managing the credit portfolio and updating processes that strengthen Moody's ratings franchise and relevance.
