The Role

Your aim as a Senior Recruiter is to get to know your client and their working culture, that allows you to identify exactly what their resourcing needs are and to create effective hiring strategies.

You'll be involved in the recruitment process from beginning to end, working with multiple internal teams. Confident and highly credible, you'll engage directly with the client where you will give expert advice and manage their expectations at every stage of the hiring process. This role is a hybrid role 40% campus hiring and 60% mid career hiring.

Key Accountabilities(mid career)

  • Lead vacancy consultation discussions to agree recruitment plans with hiring managers and document outcomes of the intake meeting. Agree with hiring manager on role requirements, sourcing strategy, pay range, agreed timeframes, roles and responsibilities of all involved, and the selection process.
  • Inform attraction strategies, working with Sourcing and hiring managers to correctly identify approach based on market and hiring demands.
  • Create and maintain trusted partner relationships with hiring managers. This includes being responsible for the end-to-end delivery of recruitment services to them, advising them on the recruitment process and ensuring that timelines are correctly identified and met.
  • Deliver excellent comprehensive candidate experience including a special focus on preparing candidates for interviews, keeping them warm and managing their satisfaction with the recruitment experience from initial interview to start date.
  • Proactively source (identify) candidates utilising a broad range of channels and techniques (e.g., search engines, job board databases, social networking sites) utilising Channel.
  • Build proactive pipelining strategies and share insights with hiring managers to support strategic decision-making and execution outside of live demand. Uses knowledge of competitors, local recruitment practices and market trends to provide insights to clients for commercial advantage.
  • Ensure that all changes to a candidate's status are tracked in the Applicant Tracking System to enable accurate reporting.
  • Ensure the recruitment service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and client service level agreements.

Key Accountabilities( graduate hiring)

  • MyNavi Platform Management (for Banking & Markets only):
  • Vendor coordination and payment
  • Job posting and translation checks
  • Candidate tracking (MyNavi vs. Workday)
  • Responding to candidate queries and encouraging Workday applications

Job Postings:

  • Coordinate with Recruitment Marketing to ensure accurate Japanese translations on Barclays Careers site

Event Support:

  • Attend and support ~4–5 in-person campus events in Japan
  • Assist with virtual events

University Engagement:

  • Liaise with Japanese university career centers
  • Promote global Early Careers opportunities and relevant job fairs
  • Interview Coordination:
  • Manage logistics and greet candidates at the Tokyo office
  • Collaborate closely with the Asia Campus team

Skills & Experience

  • Strong recruiting background, preferably in Finance industry. Mid career and campus hiring experience needed
  • Experience of developing and delivering end-to-end recruitment campaign strategies to meet client requirements. Experience of managing candidates through the recruitment process
  • Knowledge of various candidate sourcing strategies (e.g., web sourcing, networking, advertising and database searching)
  • Builds and nurtures stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Business fluency and above in Japanese and English

• 採用市場やニーズに応じて、適切な母集団形成戦略を立案し、ソーシング担当や採用マネージャーとの連携


• 採用マネージャーと信頼関係を築き、採用プロセス全体をサポート。スケジュール管理や選考の進行を円滑に進める


• 候補者に対して質の高い選考体験を提供。面接準備の支援、選考中のフォロー、入社までの満足度管理を実施する


• 検索エンジン、求人データベース、SNSなど多様なチャネルを活用し、候補者を積極的に発掘する


• 将来の採用ニーズに備えた人材プールの構築や、競合情報・市場動向をもとにしたインサイト提供を通じて、戦略的な意思決定を支援する


• 候補者のステータス変更をATS(採用管理システム)に正確に記録し、レポートの精度を保つ
