Job Description

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as Director, Regional HR – Japan. In this role, you will lead the HR Business Partner team and provide strategic HR support to senior business leaders across Japan. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Regional HR Japan, a member of the Global HR Senior Leadership Team.

  • HR Business Partnership: Partner closely with senior business leaders and their teams to develop and implement people strategies that drive business performance and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Global HR Collaboration: Collaborate with Global HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to drive people strategies tailored to the Japan region and ensure alignment with the global HR agenda.
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives to support business strategy and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Culture & Performance: Promote and strengthen Renesas' corporate culture while enhancing organizational performance across Japan.
  • Project Management: Oversee local HR projects, identifying and mitigating risks through qualitative and quantitative analysis, planning risk responses, and managing dependencies impacted by project changes.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and support to the local HRBP team, enhancing team capabilities through coaching and by serving as a role model.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of HR experience, including responsibilities in a global HR environment
  • Minimum of 8 years in team management or equivalent experience, with a proven ability to drive results through others
  • Demonstrated success in leading HR transformation projects; HR PMO experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
