Since 1981, we have been a leading tourism company specialized in providing a wide range of travel experiences in Japan. Our mission is to become the go-to brand for anyone who loves Japan and wants to experience this wonderful country to the fullest.
We sell a variety of products to our customers traveling to Japan : individual and group tours, Rail Passes, activities, excursions, train tickets, accommodations, SIM cards, etc. More info on our company and products, on our 5 languages website:
In March 2025 Japan Experience also acquired FTC, a DMC specialized in large group tours in Japan, and in 2022 opened Irasshai, a 800 m2 Japanese concept food store in the center of Paris ).
Your role as Tour Guide
As part of our growth strategy to become a leading inbound travel company for the western markets, we are seeking a dedicated individual to support Japan Experience in Tokyo or Kyoto as Tour Guide.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Guiding people around Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura, Nikko, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara showing them the main highlights of the city
Creating and adjusting itineraries according to the customers wishes and requests
Sharing information and deep insight on Japanese history, culture and society
Taking care of transportation and logistics to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience
Providing suggestions and recommendations to the guests
Helping the customers during meals when part of the itinerary
Offering overall on the ground customer support
Who are you?
Your profile:
Eligible to work in Japan
Flexible availability including weekends
Currently living in Tokyo or Kansai area
Passionate about Japanese culture, history, and traditions, and eager to share your knowledge.
Experience in tour guiding in Japan
Permission to work in Japan is required, no visa sponsorship
Minimum language requirements:
English: Business level
- German: Business level
Japanese: Conversational level
Proficiency in another language (French, Italian, or Spanish) appreciated
Your skills:
Warm and welcoming personality
Friendly and sociable, making it easy to connect with travelers
Punctual, reliable, organized, and able to handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally
Able to work with minimal supervision
Great communication with both travellers and suppliers
