As a BI Engineer, you will collaborate closely with diverse business units, crafting BI reports/dashboards to enhance decision-making and developing data extraction/pipelines for increased business efficiency. Additionally, managing and enhancing the local data mart is a key responsibility, ultimately contributing to the acceleration of data democratization.
Job Description:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support multiple key stakeholders, providing insights through a data-driven approach.
- Formulate business requirements for BI in collaboration with various business units.
- Identify relevant data sets to meet business requirements, constructing PowerBI reports and dashboards.
- Design, develop, and manage data mart/data lake with data engineers, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Develop and manage data pipelines and extractions to meet business needs.
- Lead efforts to build a robust data foundation, facilitating data democratization.
- Collaborate with the Japan Data Office and regional ADO team to support data platforms and frameworks.
- Design data architecture and flow around the data platform.
- Support and consult on various data consumption requirements from business users.
- Analyze data consumption needs, designing methods to extract necessary data.
Qualifications:
- Advanced communication skills, including effective presentation abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability in challenging environments.
- Self-starter with curiosity in both technology and business.
- Over 5 years of overall knowledge/experience in BI.
- Hands-on experience in writing complex and optimized SQL queries across different data sets.
- Advanced experience in data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data modeling.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Azure-based data solutions.
- Expertise in data model and flow design and implementation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Documenting skills.
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese (Native level) and English (Business level).
- Experience in system developments within the life insurance domain.
- Business knowledge in the life insurance domain.
