Job Description:
This Coordinator within the Student Success and Engagement team in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering has a key role in supporting students in successfully persisting through their first year and on to graduation. This role is focused on continuously innovating the ways in which Fulton Schools students engage with first-year students both in-person and online. The Coordinator will be responsible for program and event planning, organizing, staffing and supervision of student success and engagement activities directed by the Fulton Schools of Engineering at the Polytechnic Campus.
Central elements of this role will include supervision of the Fulton Peer Mentors and collaborative support of Fulton Difference Programming related to student engagement (i.e.: Student Clubs and Orgs, Entrepreneurship + Innovation, Design Experiences, etc.). The coordinator will also be involved with Welcome Week, Family Weekend, and other ASU-wide activities, and a multitude of targeted outreach campaigns designed for current first-year students. This role also supports essential duties within E2 Camp, a cornerstone retention initiative. E2 camp is held in Prescott, Arizona, during July and August annually. This individual will be required to travel to and participate in leadership of E2 for approximately 10 days (not consecutive), which will be decided in conjunction with the individual hired.
The successful candidate will be confident with using technology and programs such as PeopleSoft, Canvas, Salesforce, and social media platforms. This position reports to the Coordinator Sr. of Student Success and Engagement and is part of a team of faculty and staff who are focused on developing a premier first-year student experience while collaborating with ASA, Schools, and university teams in improving student persistence to graduation.
Position Salary Range:
$50,000 - $55,000 per year; DOE.
Essential Duties:
Student Engagement
Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
Supports activities related to the peer mentor program and to support residential, commuter, and global community students enrolled in their first year of coursework across the Fulton Schools.
Assist with creating programs, policies and procedures to support 60+ engineering student organizations across the Fulton Schools.
Coordinates/supports efforts to promote student persistence to graduation with data, academic advising, and retention coordination staff.
Administrative
Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate assigned student staff.
Performs tasks such as marketing/communications and outreach; event management/program operations, tracking and delivery; and/or faculty relations and data management/analysis.
Prepares budget proposals and recommendations; and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures; recommends equipment and resources for programming and events.
Provides guidance to students, staff, faculty, donors, alumni involved with programs of responsibility.
Event and Program Planning
Supports program planning and delivery for extra-curricular Student Success and Engagement programs and signature Fulton Schools of Engineering programs.
Supports E2 early move-in planning/processes, outreach and cross-functional communication.
Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings, conferences, and events with high impact on program and/or participants; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications in accordance with the Fulton mission and goals.
Conducts regular assessments for events and activities - collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in areas of responsibility and develops/provides annual reports.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail.

Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
