Essential Duties:

Compliance Oversight 

  • Work in collaboration with the Executive Director of Academic Strategy and Student Experience and the Director of Academic Services to ensure alignment with curricular updates and the evolving needs of the three CISA Schools.  

  • Serve as the primary CISA liaison to ASU's Regulatory Office for state authorization matters, such as professional licensure programs, out-of-state learning placements, and other activities that allow programs to enroll students and offer placements in locations outside of Arizona. 

  • Create, maintain, and update documentation for programs leading to professional licensure or certification, ensuring compliance with state regulations and disclosure requirements.

  • Oversee the Professional Licensure & Certification Inventory, Out-of-State Learning Placement Reports, and Professional Licensure Disclosures, coordinating annual and quarterly submissions in collaboration with academic units. Responsible for creating and improving compliance workflows to support regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct annual state-by-state reviews of licensing requirements, analyzing statutory language including scope of practice, verifying board criteria, and documenting compliance for all relevant CISA programs. 

  • Coordinate student support activities related to state authorization, including guidance on licensure disclosures, attestation forms, and out-of-state placement requirements.

  • Partner with the ASU Compliance office, Risk Management, School Directors, and college liaisons to ensure accurate data submission and student record management.

  • Develop and maintain documentation protocols, shared repositories, and compliance tracking systems, including documentation for all 50 states and US territories for each program that leads to licensure or certification.

  • Interpret and apply regulatory and institutional policy changes; communicate updates to faculty, staff, and leadership.

  • Serve as the college's point of contact for inquiries from students, faculty, and external agencies regarding program authorization and licensure eligibility.
     

Assessment Responsibilities

  • Support ASU assessment activities in collaboration with the CISA team and ASU University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE), including Academic Program Review, which occurs for each program every seven years.

  • Maintain program assessment records in the UOEEE Assessment Portal, assist with edits, and offer feedback and comments on assessment plans. 

  • Assist with annual assessment reports to ensure CISA meets all deadlines for program assessment. 

  • Work with the assessment team to expand tagging of course artifacts in Canvas LMS to allow data to be pulled into assessment dashboards.  

 

Program and Operations Management

  • Develop, implement, and monitor daily operational procedures to support compliance activities.

  • Serves as a critical team member to support ASU assessment activities. 

  • Design and maintain internal project management systems, calendars, and workflows to ensure timely execution of cyclical reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate meetings, communications, and deliverables among multiple stakeholders, including school directors, faculty leads, staff, CISA Academic Services team members, and central ASU partners.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, process evaluation, and implementation of new tools or technologies.

  • This role serves as a member of the CISA Academic Services team and will assist with team projects as needed.
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in Education Policy, State Authorization compliance. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, licensure requirements, and state authorization processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret legal, policy, or regulatory documents. Skill in regulatory research, analysis, and policy development.

  • Skill in organization, project management, process mapping, and developing compliance documentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to clarity and accuracy.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse university stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in data systems, reporting tools, and collaborative platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Excel, Airtable, or similar).

  • Experience in higher education or non-profits, particularly in compliance, accreditation, assessment, or related administrative functions.
     

Working Environment: 

  • Days and Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., evenings and weekends may occasionally be required.

  • Work schedule aligns with reporting cycles, including periodic deadlines tied to institutional or regulatory submissions.

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions; Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, and associated computer/technology peripherals.

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds (5%).

  • Occasional meetings across ASU campuses and with external partners.

  • Hybrid work is an option for CISA employees. Hybrid arrangements allow employees to spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or Provost level approval is required.

  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
