Position Overview
As a CAD Engineer, you'll turn concepts into detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings. You'll partner with designers, validation engineers, and production teams to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain 3D CAD models of robot components (arms, end-effectors, frames)
Produce 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and material specs
Update BOMs and part lists in PLM/PDM systems
Perform interference checks, tolerance stack-ups, and basic kinematic simulations
Incorporate test feedback into design revisions
Ensure CAD data follows drawing standards, naming conventions, and revision control
Support DFM/DFX by liaising with vendors and manufacturers
Contribute to standard parts libraries and tooling designs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
3+ years of 3D CAD experience in robotics, automation, or machinery
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or Inventor
Solid understanding of GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience with ISO/ASME drawing standards and PLM/PDM workflows
Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
Preferred
Basic FEA or simulation tool experience (ANSYS, Abaqus)
Knowledge of robotic kinematics and safety standards (ISO 10218, RIA R15.06)
Exposure to electrical/pneumatic component integration
CAD automation via macros or API scripting
Agile R&D or prototype build-test cycle experience
