The Finance & Accounting Division plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainable growth of the entire Rakuten Group from a financial perspective. We are a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about driving value and ensuring the financial health of our organization. We are responsible for securing optimal funding for our diverse global businesses through various means, including domestic and international financial markets, equity and bond issuances, and strategic bank loans. Proactively managing the Group's overall funding needs is paramount to our success. We also manage Investor Relations, communicating the company's strategy and financial performance accurately and promptly to investors and analysts. We strive to achieve fair market valuation and build trust, contributing directly to the enhancement of corporate value. Furthermore, we fulfill the responsibilities of a publicly listed company by ensuring timely and appropriate information disclosure based on the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and other relevant regulations, demonstrating our commitment to accountability to our shareholders and investors. Our team also provides strategic financial support, developing optimal capital structures based on management strategy and providing crucial financial insights for strategic decision-making, including M&A activities. Finally, we ensure compliance with all tax laws and proactively manage tax risks to support the sustainable growth of the Rakuten Group.
Department Overview
At Rakuten Group, Inc., our Group Accounting Department plays a pivotal role in the consolidated financial reporting process, collaborating closely with the business accounting teams of each of our diverse companies. Beyond the essential function of financial consolidation, our department is entrusted with a critical mission: to gather and analyze the vital information necessary for informed management decision-making, providing crucial support to Group management through the CFO.

Our team includes experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds, including consulting firms, operating companies, audit firms, other Rakuten Group companies, and recent university graduates.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting with bookkeeping level 2 or higher.
- At least 3 years of experience in a business company or professional firm.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as an organization.
- Be able to respond flexibly to changes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of IFRS and relevant work experience.
- Experience in preparing disclosure documents for publicly listed companies.
- Experience in improving accounting systems or accounting processes.
- Experience in team management or project management.
- Desire to work in an English-speaking environment.
