Role Context

Within a globally established renewable energy platform, the
Energy Storage activity in Japan is entering a critical execution phase
. Several large-scale BESS projects are moving from commercial development to
delivery, commissioning and long-term operation
.

To support this transition, the Japanese organization is reinforcing its local structure and is seeking an
experienced Project Lead
who will take
direct responsibility for the successful execution and long-term performance of utility-scale Energy Storage systems in Japan
.

This role is designed for a professional who combines
project discipline, technical credibility, and customer-facing responsibility
, and who is comfortable operating at the intersection of
delivery, service and internal coordination
.

Your Contribution

You will act as the
reference point in Japan for Energy Storage project execution
, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with contractual commitments.

Your scope will include:

  • Taking ownership of
    project execution from contract award through commissioning and operational handover
  • Coordinating customers, EPC partners, suppliers, and internal engineering and logistics teams
  • Maintaining control over
    schedule integrity, cost discipline, quality standards and risk management
  • Overseeing on-site activities, including safety compliance, inspections, testing and acceptance
  • Supporting the establishment of
    local service and maintenance practices
    to ensure long-term system availability
  • Acting as a
    technical and delivery interface
    during customer discussions and tender phases when required
  • Capturing project feedback and contributing to
    continuous improvement of delivery and service processes

Profile Sought

  • Engineering background (electrical, energy systems, or related field)
  • Solid experience delivering
    large-scale energy, power or infrastructure projects in Japan
  • Exposure to
    energy storage systems
    , renewable energy or grid-connected projects
  • Working knowledge of
    BESS architecture
    (PCS, BMS, EMS, batteries) and commissioning phases
  • Familiarity with
    Japanese regulatory, permitting and construction environments
  • Native-level Japanese and professional English
    required for daily coordination
  • Chinese language exposure is beneficial but not essential
  • Recognized for reliability, organization, and calm execution under responsibility
