R&D Test Engineering Industrial Placement
The Vehicle and System Testing department in Nissan has open positions within our vehicle customer requirements team and interior, exterior and body structure testing teams where we are looking for new industrial placement candidates who are passionate about engineering the next generations of our vehicles.
This is a 1-year placement starting in August 2024.
Working for the global automotive company Nissan at its European R&D centre (NTCE) based near Milton Keynes and Cranfield University, you'll play a key role in our push towards electrification, resolving the challenges and opportunities this creates to enhance our customer experience of the whole vehicle.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development of our vehicle testing capabilities, working closely with our internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and improve our overall performance.
You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our vehicles, while also driving innovation and improvement through data-driven decision making.
As an R&D Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and developing new test equipment to analyzing and interpreting test data.
Requirements
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, with experience in a relevant field such as engineering or physics.
- Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues quickly.
