Mercedes-Benz Cars Development pioneers automotive technology of the future with highest quality, innovative products, and efficient development processes. We work on vehicles securing Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership, focusing on agile vehicle software development with MB.OS.
We develop and integrate future systems and functions for Japan and the world as Mercedes-Benz R&D location in Japan. Mercedes-Benz Japan Co., Ltd. is a Japanese subsidiary wholly-owned by Mercedes-Benz AG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have full overview of current system maturity, identifying work needed to meet project deadlines.
- Prepare test vehicles, including vehicle preparation, HW/SW exchange/flashing/coding ECU's, and maintaining release conformity.
- Plan and execute test drives with test- and development engineers.
- Test overall infotainment system and EE-system.
- Regularly report new findings, blockers, and system maturity to developers, suppliers, and management.
- Manage defects and follow-up with developers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on system maturity and customer release.
Requirements:
- System thinker with complex technical project experience in cross-functional teams.
- 4+ years working experience in automotive EE system integration/development or related technical field.
- 2+ years experience in automotive infotainment development, integration, or validation.
- Strong understanding of automotive infotainment systems and connectivity/backend infrastructure.
- Collaborative approach, good interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong network with stakeholders across continents.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electric and electronics, especially CAN/LIN/Flexray/Ethernet communication systems.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic tools.
- Experience in hands-on troubleshooting of electrical issues in automobiles.
- Pro-active attitude and exceptional problem solving skills.
- Fluent English is mandatory.
- Japanese/German language skills are highly desired.
- B.Eng. / B.Sc. / M.Eng. / M.Sc. in computer science, electrical, automotive, or mechanical engineering or equivalent education.
