We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supplier Engineer, External Products to join our team at Boston Scientific. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to meet manufacturing delivery goals while ensuring product quality and delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing/procurement engineering with 8+ years of experience, excellent language skills in Japanese and English, and a proven track record of solving technical problems and implementing solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and technical staff from various sites, driving improvements at Boston Scientific's suppliers of finished medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects related to new production equipment, process improvements, and cost reductions
- Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams
- Contribute to new product development and current product support through process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation, and process/test documentation
- Independently design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments, including Design of Experiments
- Troubleshoot new and existing product/process problems related to design, material, or processes
- Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results
- Prepare standard reports/documents to communicate results to the technical community
- Lead cross-functional project teams
- Submit and manage Change Requests to approve changes at external manufacturers
- Execute plans to support supply chain objectives, supplier performance, supplied material risk mitigation, and execution of materials VIP (Value Improvement Process)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or prestigious university
- Language skills: Japanese and English
- 8+ years of manufacturing/procurement engineering experience
- Proven organization and execution skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
