Company overview Our client is a major supplier of automotive electronics and advanced safety systems.
With a strong focus on innovation and quality, they have established themselves as a key player in the automotive industry, both domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities━━━━━━Responsibilities━━━━━━
Lead and manage the Engineering teams (Project management, System, Hardware, Software, Mechanical, New Product, and Cyber security & Functional safety) .
Collaborate with the General Manager and the HR team to oversee the entire engineering organization in Japan (program management, mechanical, electrical, software, systems).
Develop and implement technical strategies to achieve organizational goals.Work closely with senior management in Japan and headquarters to establish efficient and effective business processes.
Develop business plans for the international market (market research for each customer and destination, gathering customer requirements, making proposals).
Explore new business opportunities outside the domestic automotive industry (target industries: aerospace, medical, smart home, wearable devices).
Support and review the creation of detailed designs and related documents necessary for projects.
Keep abreast of new technologies, architecture, manufacturing processes, and applications for the automotive market.
Support the Asian sales group in presentations defining new programs with J-OEMs.
Review the RFQ (Request for Quotation) process through the Engineering Department.

Requirements
10+ years of development experience in any engineering (electrical, software, systems engineering, mechanical etc.) in the automotive industry
3+ years of experience with Toyota business
Able to travel to headquarters (US)
Able to build good relationships with domestic OEMs and travel for business visits
Native-level Japanese, high-level business English (equivalent to TOEIC 800+)
5+ years of experience at a foreign-affiliated supplier (2-3years experience considerable.)
5+ years of people management experience with teams of 10+ members, or 5+ years of project management experience with projects of 20+ members (Candidates who possess fewer years of experience or have overseen smaller teams will still be considered acceptable.)
Experience in development involving at least one of the following:
Functional Safety (ISO26262), Cybersecurity (ISO preferred)
