Business Overview
Rakuten Group's mission is to contribute society by creating value through innovation and entrepreneurship. We provide over 70 various services such as online shopping mall "Rakuten Ichiba", online travel service "Rakuten Travel", online banking service "Rakuten Bank" and others including pro-sports businesses and telecommunication businesses.
Department Overview
Corporate Development Department is responsible for strategic planning and execution of M&As, capital alliances, joint ventures, and business sales (including listing) for the entire group. These include domestic projects as well as global projects.
Both Strategic Investment Section (SIS) and Strategic Alliance Section (SAS), we manage M&A, divestiture deals, and at SAS we focus more on JV, alliance types of deals.

Position Details
We are looking for candidate who can support/lead corporate development projects for the entire group at Rakuten Group headquarters.
You are not required now but will be required to have hard skills in management, finance, legal, valuation, etc., and to be able to communicate smoothly with internal stakeholders such as management, business departments, and corporate departments, as well as external stakeholders such as legal and accounting experts and FAs. For that reason, we believe that people with some similar experience in their current position will have a high affinity.
The successful candidate will be expected to think and work independently to research, analyze, prepare documents, and make presentations for the success of the project, as well as provide accurate reporting to your manager.
This is a very important department that plays a pivotal role in the management of Rakuten Group, which is now taking on a major challenge. This is the best position for a positive, passionate person who wants to grow with the organization and with themselves.

Mandatory Qualifications:
Experience in finance-related (M&A-related is a plus) work in an operating company or in a bank, securities or investment firm
Strong communication skills, including negotiation, coordination, and relationship-building skills
High commitment to work
Japanese (native level), English (at least a level that enables business communication/negotiation)
Desired Qualifications:
MBA holder
