The organization focuses on scalable cloud platforms, integrated data systems, and strategic technology partnerships to enable data-driven growth across multiple business units.

Department Overview

The Data Platform organization designs, builds, and operates a centralized data platform supporting dozens of internal services. The platform enables data ingestion, discovery, governance, analytics, and querying, empowering business and technical teams to make data-driven decisions at scale. Key domains include Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Business Intelligence.

Position Overview

The
Data Delivery Team Lead
provides strategic direction and operational leadership for the Data Delivery function. This role oversees
Project Management (Delivery)
,
Product Management (Strategy)
, and
Data Engineering (Operations)
, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality data products such as data lakehouse solutions and data marts.

The position requires strong leadership, structured execution, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders to maintain data quality, governance, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1) Team & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage Project Managers, Product Managers, and Data Engineers
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1s, set performance objectives, and support career development
  • Coordinate workflows to ensure smooth collaboration between product strategy, delivery execution, and engineering operations

2) Strategic & Operational Oversight

  • Design and optimize standardized workflows for data onboarding, data change requests, and access approvals
  • Oversee product roadmap planning to ensure alignment with business goals
  • Review and approve project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Champion data governance, quality, testing, auditing, and documentation practices
  • Identify and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and cross-functional blockers

3) Stakeholder Communication

  • Lead user communications related to data products (release notes, training, incident/outage updates)
  • Act as the main point of contact for senior internal stakeholders regarding delivery status and team capacity
  • Prepare and present performance metrics, compliance updates, and delivery reports to leadership

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in technical, product, or delivery environments
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role (Team Lead, Project Manager, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field)
  • Equivalent practical experience may be considered
  • Languages:
  • Japanese: Fluent to native level (JLPT N1)
  • English: Advanced business level
  • Strong understanding of Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and project management methodologies
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum environments and tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional challenges
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior leadership
