Japan Ethics and Compliance Manager
Summary Of Position
The Japan Ethics and Compliance Manager will be overseeing the Corporate Compliance Program in Dentsply Sirona Japan. They will be reviewing and evaluating compliance issues/concerns within the organization. This role ensures the management and employees follow local and international laws, company policies and procedures, and the company's Codes of Conduct. Also importantly, this a key role in building a Dentsply Sirona culture of compliance. This manager will keep Corporate apprised of issues and concerns specific to the Japan business. Additionally, they will manage the Third-Party Compliance programs, including Distributors and Consultants.

There will be opportunities to support compliance projects on both an APAC and global level.

This Manager will report directly to the Ethics & Compliance Director, APAC and will be part of the Global Ethics & Compliance team under the direction of the Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer. This role will also dotted-line report into the Vice President, General Manager of Dentsply Sirona Japan. They will be part of the Japan management team and the Japan Compliance Promotion Conference committee.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Promotes a compliant tone at the top and in the middle; serves as an influential leader within Japan
• Develops, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Ethics and Compliance Program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
• Assesses ethics and compliance risks and implements localised compliance policies, controls and other mitigating measures, as needed, prioritising global company compliance policies requirements
• Serves as the Japan leader and main contact for compliance-related queries, including interaction with Healthcare Professionals and distributors, ensuring compliance to company policies, processes and regulations
• Collaborates with HR and Legal to provide guidance to management and employees, and to resolve compliance issues, as necessary.
• Monitors Dentsply Sirona's locations in Japan (including the Digital Dental Solution Center Tokyo) for compliance with Company standards and procedures.
• Supports internal and external audits of Dentsply Sirona's Japan business
• Implements the Business Gifts and Entertainment Policy and Register usage in Japan, providing guidance as needed on local regulations.
• Oversees on-going monitoring efforts of Dentsply Sirona's distributor network
• Lead and/or assist with internal investigations as directed by the regional and/or global Ethics & Compliance and/or Legal departments.
• Ensures that compliance-related issues/concerns within the Company are appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
• Monitors new compliance-related legislation and industry trends to assess changes required in Dentsply Sirona policy.
• Supports the company's Data Privacy program needs, including compliance with Japan Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), working with Legal and Global Ethics & Compliance teams.

Training

• Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organisation which includes promoting the use of Compliance Hotline, heightened awareness of Codes of Conduct, and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
• Develops an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
• Conducts in-person and web-based trainings for employees and Third Parties in Japan

Others

• Prepares status reports on projects and programs for Compliance and Ethics Committee meetings and Audit Committee presentations.
• Participates in process improvement projects as necessary.
• Provides reports on a regular basis on the Compliance Programs initiated.
• Participates in compliance-related legal and data privacy processes and projects as necessary.

Education

・A Bachelor's degree or higher

Experience
・10+ years' experience within a regulated industry in a multinational environment.

・Healthcare industry strongly preferred

・Knowledge and experience of laws on interaction with Healthcare Professionals in Japan

・Experience in building and implementing anti-bribery and corruption programs

Specific Knowledge /skills

業務内容:

• 日本法人内において、経営層および中間管理職を巻き込み、コンプライアンス意識の高い企業文化の醸成を推進する。
• 違法、不道徳、または不適切な行為を防止するため、エシックス&コンプライアンス・プログラムの方針や手順を策定・維持・改訂する。
• 倫理・コンプライアンスリスクを評価し、必要に応じて、グローバル方針を優先しつつ、ローカル向けのポリシー、管理策、リスク低減措置を導入する。
• 日本におけるコンプライアンス関連の主要責任者および窓口として、医療従事者やディストリビューターとの対応を含め、社内方針・手順・法令の順守を確保する。
• 必要に応じて、HRおよび法務と連携し、マネジメントや社員へのアドバイス、コンプライアンス上の問題解決を行う。
