Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Bilingual Power BI Expert with a strong background in the life sciences to join our growing analytics team. This role offers the opportunity to transform complex scientific and business data into actionable insights, enabling smarter decision-making within the fast-evolving world of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare. The ideal candidate thrives in a multicultural environment, possesses a deep understanding of both data visualization and life science applications, and communicates fluently in at least two languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Power BI Dashboards: Design, create, and optimize interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations tailored to life science datasets, ensuring clarity and accuracy for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Data Analysis and Integration: Collect, clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources (clinical trials, laboratory systems, sales, research databases) for comprehensive analysis and reporting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with scientists, researchers, business leaders, and IT professionals to understand data requirements and deliver custom solutions that drive operational excellence and scientific discovery.
- Process Optimization: Recommend and implement improvements to existing analytics workflows, ensuring best practices in data governance, security, and compliance within the life sciences sector.
- Documentation and Reporting: Produce clear, concise documentation in both Japanese and English languages.
- Support Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all Power BI solutions adhere to industry regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, GxP, and other relevant standards in handling sensitive health and research data.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of Power BI updates, life science data standards, and emerging analytics technologies for continuous professional development and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Professional fluency in English and Japanese N1
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in translating scientific questions into data-driven insights.
- Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing, in both supported languages.
- Experience with database technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and data integration tools is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to data privacy and security in life sciences (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, GxP).
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in cross-functional and multicultural teams.

- Experience with additional BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, Looker) or programming languages (Python, R).
- Understanding of laboratory information management systems (LIMS), electronic lab notebooks (ELN), or clinical data management systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS).
