:Job Overview
The Rebates Development Group is a tech organization under the EC Marketplace Development Department (ECMPD). We are responsible for developing and enhancing our online system to support our business, Rakuten Rebates. Our team is part of a high growth e-commerce service in Japan, with access to great technology and international markets.
We're a diverse and fun team with members from various countries. We're interested in meeting talented individuals who can help us change the way the world shops, by helping people save money and improving the shopping experience.
This is a full-time position located in Tokyo. You must have excellent Java, Spring, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills. You will be working with various teams, translating marketing and product requirements into functional pages on both Rebates' desktop and mobile web sites.
Key Responsibilities
- To understand business requirements and deliver features with high quality and speed
- To design, develop, test, and operate an e-commerce system
- To perform maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and bug-fix (24/7)
- To perform system improvement (i.e. refactoring, adopting appropriate technologies and system architecture, and optimizing the system performance with a sufficient load test)
Mandatory Qualifications
- Good experience in CI/CD automation of service delivery (using Jenkins/git, etc.) as DevOps
- Good experience in both Waterfall and Agile practice, and understanding the spirit behind them
- Good experience in traffic management by using CDN and caching systems
- Experience in developing GraphQL / JSON RPC / gRPC server implementations
- Team leading experience (5~6 people) to achieve targets on schedule under high pressure
- Operate middleware, such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Weblogic, and other open source frameworks
- Experience in supervising software content management (Git, Maven, and Gradle)
- Experience in utilizing GNU utility on Linux distribution to take further investigation
- Experience in architecture design by taking lots of system characteristics
- Try to tackle proactively against highly challenging issues and manage to get things done
- Can convince all stakeholders with choosing the best technical option with long-term and panoramic vision
- 3+ years experience in Spring Framework
- 3+ years of experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience using React
- Deep understanding of or strong interest in front-end technical specifications
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year
