We are seeking a globally minded full-stack/backend web application engineer to contribute to the development of our services. The Leisure Product Department handles lifestyle and leisure services, some of which are category leaders in the Japanese market. We aim to grow globally and become world leaders through innovation and technology. Key responsibilities include designing and developing features on small to large scale systems, handling operations like releases to production environments, and interacting with members from other development teams. A commitment to team collaboration, good communication, and resilient system design and maintenance is important. The work environment is lively and cross-cultural, with a flat atmosphere and active exchange meetings with other groups. Mandatory qualifications include over 5 years of Java experience in web application development, experience with RDBMS, and experience with version control system. Desired qualifications include experience with Unix/Linux, Web Application Framework, API development, e-commerce system, devops-related tasks, and system development using containers, queue systems, Kubernetes, and/or NoSQL. Proficient English skills are also required, with a native level or TOEIC score of 800+. The team is diverse and skilled, with a focus on maintaining and supporting existing Rakuten systems related to lifestyle and leisure services.
