We are searching for a Consumer Research/Insights specialist who has a technical background to work in a major international FMCG company. The company has been working in the Japanese market for many years, and these products are very well-known in the Japanese and global markets.
Job Description
‣ Purpose of Role
Lead evaluation and testing for our products to ensure safety, performance, and compelling product claims. Collaborate with global teams and internal stakeholders to deliver consumer insights and technical evidence that strengthen product appeal in the market.
※ He/she is responsible for the China Market.
‣ Key Responsibilities
Safety & Claim Testing
- Arrange and manage safety and product claim tests in collaboration with US counterparts.
- Validate product benefits and claims through technical evidence and regulatory compliance.
Consumer Testing
- Coordinate consumer tests with global teams and manage local research agencies in Japan.
- Ensure smooth execution of consumer studies and analyze feedback to create attractive product claims.
Instrumental Evaluation
- Conduct instrumental measurements to assess product benefits.
- Summarize technical findings to support marketing and sales teams with persuasive product stories.
Cross‐functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Global R&D, Marketing, QA/RA, and Sales teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical input for product positioning and communication.
‣ Universal Accountabilities
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of evaluation plans aligned with global standards.
- Maintain robust documentation for all tests and evaluations to support regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of evaluation methodologies and internal processes.
‣ Required Skills and Experience
Experience
- More than 3 years in product evaluation, consumer testing, or technical support within the FMCG. personal care and cosmetics industry.
- Experience in instrumental measurement and data interpretation preferred.
Skills
- Chinese/Mandarin and English communication skills sufficient for email correspondence and online meetings.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks logically and effectively.
- Proactive mindset with passion for finding the best solutions aligned with the company direction.
‣ Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetics and quasidrugs in Japan.
- Familiarity with OEM technical management and global collaboration.

- Reports to the Head of the department.
