Company Description
Dream Lab is a STEAM academy dedicated to empowering children aged 4–17 to explore robotics, coding, engineering, and creative technologies through hands-on, project-based learning. Located near the International French School of Tokyo, the academy offers after-school programs, Saturday School, private lessons, and holiday camps. The curriculum includes Scratch, Python, LEGO robotics, 3D modeling and engineering challenges to nurture children's problem-solving, creativity, and confidence. At Dream Lab, children thrive in a safe, bilingual environment designed to inspire exploration, innovation, and big dreams.
Role Description
This is a part-time contract role for a Bilingual Teacher (English/Japanese) specializing in Kids Coding & Robotics. The teacher will conduct engaging and interactive coding and robotics lessons for children, support lesson planning, and adapt materials to match varied skill levels of students. Additional responsibilities include fostering a positive learning environment, encouraging creativity, and maintaining effective communication with students, colleagues, and parents.
You
don't need to have a technical background
— passion, pedagogy, and the ability to connect with kids matter most.
Qualifications
- Experience in Education, Teaching, and Training, particularly with children
- Strong skills in Lesson Planning and designing age-appropriate activities
- Excellent Communication skills, both in English and Japanese, with the ability to interact effectively with students and parents
- Passion for helping children learn and grow, along with patience and creativity
Nice to have (Not Required)
- Experience with
Scratch, LEGO, robotics kits, or coding tools - Background in education, engineering, design, or tech
- Experience in international or bilingual environments
Schedule & Contract
- Part-time / gig based
- Initially Saturdays (Full or half day)
- Potential to add weekday afternoons as we grow
- Opportunity to grow into a long-term or expended role
