Lead and scale the engineering organization as Head of Engineering, overseeing product development, platform architecture, and technical strategy
Manage and mentor a growing engineering team (currently 15-20 engineers), fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration
Drive the technical roadmap in alignment with business objectives, focusing on platform scalability, performance, and new feature development
Oversee the full technology stack including web applications, mobile applications, backend infrastructure, and data systems
Partner closely with the CEO, product, and business teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Establish and improve engineering processes, best practices, and development methodologies to increase team efficiency and product quality
Lead recruitment efforts to attract top engineering talent and build a world-class engineering organization
Manage vendor relationships and technical partnerships as needed
Ensure system reliability, security, and performance across all platforms
Drive innovation in areas such as creator matching algorithms, analytics, and platform features
Your Skills
Required:
10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering management or leadership roles
Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams (15+ people)
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern web and mobile technologies
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable system architecture
Fluent Japanese (native or business level) is mandatory
Business-level English for communication with potential international partners and technical documentation
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred:
Experience in consumer-facing platform or marketplace businesses
Background in social media, creator economy, influencer marketing, or advertising technology
Experience with data-driven product development and analytics
Track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects in fast-paced environments
Experience building and managing mobile applications (iOS/Android)
Knowledge of machine learning or recommendation systems
Startup or high-growth company experience
