The Team:
S&P Global Market Intelligence's Credit & Risk Services (CRS) business unit powers credit and risk management workflows by bringing together cutting-edge analytics, differentiated data, technology and workflow solutions to help our customers stay ahead of the competition, pinpoint risk exposures and spot the right opportunities in an unpredictable market environment.

- Credit Ratings and Research from S&P Global Ratings
- Credit Assessment Scorecards
- Capabilities on Counterparty Credit Risk Analysis
- Probability of Default and Loss Given Default Scoring Models
The Role:
As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team of high-performing sales specialists in Japan. You will be responsible for driving new business sales across the credit and risk portfolio while partnering with internal stakeholders to shape and execute a long-term growth strategy.
Core Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership & Coaching – Lead, coach and inspire a specialist sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, customer excellence, high performance, and accountability
- Revenue Generation – Drive ambitious sales growth, meeting or exceeding your new business sales quota
- Sales Strategy & Execution – Partner with sales and account management leadership, business line stakeholders, marketing, etc. to develop and execute the Japan growth strategy, aligning organizational goals to local market trends/regulations to drive revenue growth
- Market Engagement – Develop and nurture strong 'C-Suite' and Senior Executive relationships within our client's organization, local regulator/central bank and industry bodies/associations relevant to our business line, to identify and support sales opportunities
- Sales Reporting/Pipeline Management – Provide timely pipeline updates and revenue forecasts, ensuring your team maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, leads management and sales visit activity in
- Represent and promote S&P Global core values
Core Skills and Requirements:
You are a results-driven leader with a passion for driving a culture of collaboration and learning.
- You have extensive financial market experience and a strong understanding of the Investment workflow and comparative credit and risk solutions – on the client side or in a Product or Commercial role for a market provider.
- Minimum 8+ years of direct new business sales experience in the institutional financial markets, preferably selling complex credit or risk solutions and, 3+ years leading or coaching high performing commercial teams
- You are a natural leader who possesses high intellectual curiosity, creativity, and strong leadership, coaching and sales negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, collaborate and lead teams through change
- A comprehensive understanding of credit and risk management workflows, gained via work experience in the financial markets or at a financial data /advisory/ technology firm is highly desirable
- A proven track record of developing and executing local market sales strategy and growth plans
- An established network of senior contacts in the financial markets in Japan is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. MBA/CFA/CMA/MAppFin is a plus
