AI Operations Manager / AI Project Manager

Location:
Tokyo (Hybrid)

Overview

A fast-growing fintech/tech company is strengthening its AI transformation initiative and looking for an AI Operations Manager / AI Project Manager to drive company-wide AI adoption. This role sits at the intersection of business, AI engineering, and corporate functions, acting as a hub for AI initiatives across the organization.

You will lead AI-related projects from concept to implementation, collaborate closely with AI engineers and business teams, and help shape how AI is used internally to improve productivity and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and drive company-wide AI and digital transformation projects
  • Act as a liaison between business units and AI/engineering teams
  • Identify business challenges and translate them into AI use cases
  • Lead cross-functional projects involving legal, IT, security, and business teams
  • Promote AI literacy and knowledge sharing across the organization
  • Build frameworks and processes for sustainable AI adoption

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of project management or digital transformation experience
  • Experience leading IT, DX, or business improvement projects
  • Basic understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Business-level Japanese

Preferred Background

  • Experience working with engineering or data teams
  • Experience driving transformation initiatives in large organizations
  • Knowledge of change management or knowledge management
  • English proficiency

Profile

  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
  • Interested in AI and emerging technologies
  • Able to balance empathy with leadership and decision-making
  • Motivated to build practical AI solutions, not just concepts

Compensation & Work Style

  • Annual salary: approx. ¥6.5M – ¥10M
  • Hybrid work (2+ days/week in office)
  • Full-time permanent role
