Destination Asia Japan is seeking an Operations Manager (Group Travel) to lead the operational delivery of group travel across Japan.
Based in Kyoto, this senior role ensures seamless execution of itineraries, operational excellence, and strong collaboration with Sales.

What You'll Do
- Lead Operations
: Oversee end-to-end workflow for group itineraries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. - Manage Teams
: Supervise and develop Team Leaders and Operations Coordinators, fostering capability growth and a collaborative culture. - Handle Escalations
: Act as the senior contact for operational challenges, emergencies, and service recovery. - Strengthen Supplier Relations
: Maintain high-level partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating improvements and ensuring service excellence. - Ensure Financial Accuracy
: Monitor booking status, verify invoices, and support cost control initiatives. - Drive Improvement
: Identify bottlenecks, refine SOPs, and contribute to new tools and processes for greater efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Experience
: 4–6 years in Groups or DMC operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role. - Industry Knowledge
: Strong understanding of Japan's tourism suppliers, logistics, and group travel complexities. - Leadership Skills
: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead diverse operational teams. - Problem-Solving
: Skilled at managing escalations, resolving conflicts, and making decisions under pressure. - Financial Acumen
: High accuracy in itinerary planning, booking management, and cost control. - Flexibility
: Willingness to travel within Japan and support emergency situations outside office hours
