Swissport Japan is seeking a
QHSE Operations Manager
to lead our Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) operations across all stations in Japan.
In this role, you'll ensure compliance with internal standards, legal requirements, and customer expectations — while promoting a strong culture of safety, security, and quality throughout the organization. You'll act as the HQ focal point for incident management, reporting, audits, and QHSE initiatives, and serve as deputy for the GM QHSE & Training when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as QHSE subject matter expert, advising management and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Swissport's management system, local regulations, and airline customer standards.
- Lead monitoring and analysis of incidents, audits, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
- Plan and conduct internal QHSE audits and ensure timely closure of CAPAs.
- Prepare QHSE reports and performance updates for management and global stakeholders.
- Promote a strong safety culture through campaigns such as
Safety Week
and learning initiatives. - Coordinate with stations, suppliers, and authorities on audits, compliance, and safety actions.
- Manage documentation, business continuity, and emergency management plans.
- Support budget preparation, procurement, and training activities related to QHSE.
- Act as formal deputy during GM's absence for daily operations and key meetings.
Qualifications & Competencies
Mandatory
- 7+ years' experience in QHSE or quality/safety roles (aviation or ground handling preferred, other industries welcome).
- Proven experience in multi-site QHSE management, audits, and KPI monitoring.
- Strong project management and people leadership skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in Japanese and English (written & spoken).
- Driver's license preferred.
Preferred
- QHSE-related certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO, IATA).
- Experience in aviation or ground handling industry.
