About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Business Partner Leader to drive POP MART's people strategy and operations in Japan. You will be a strategic partner to the business leaders, ensuring HR initiatives are aligned with local business objectives while fostering an employee experience that embodies our unique culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee all HR operations for Japan, including payroll, benefits administration, policy implementation, and strict adherence to Japanese labor laws and regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government authorities, external payroll vendors, and legal advisors.

Strategic Business Partnering:

  • Serve as a trusted HRBP for managers and employees across the Japan business.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and talent development.
  • Support leadership with organizational design, succession planning, and managing headcount growth effectively.

Talent Acquisition & On-boarding:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, utilizing local job boards, direct sourcing, and talent networks to attract top talent.
  • Deliver a comprehensive and structured on-boarding program that integrates new hires into the POP MART culture.

Employee Relations & Culture:

  • Handle sensitive employee matters with the utmost professionalism and in full compliance with Japanese legal requirements.
  • Build trust and serve as a reliable advisor to both managers and employees.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor a small, local HR team (covering Talent Acquisition and People Operations).
  • Provide coaching, clear direction, and support professional development to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Build team capabilities to support both daily operations and future business growth.

Candidate Profile / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant portion in an HR Generalist or HRBP role.
  • Experience in the retail or consumer goods industry is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese labor law and established best practices.
  • Proven track record in managing the full employee lifecycle, including ER, recruitment, and HR operations.
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese and business fluency in English are essential. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
