If so, we'd love to meet you Rakuten Group is looking for a dynamic Digital Content Producer to help expand the company's owned and social media program and amplify the innovative work Rakuten is doing across 70+ businesses around the word.
Reporting to Rakuten's Senior Director of Digital Content, you will play a key role in communicating the Rakuten Group story to a diverse audience of global media, analysts, industry influencers, current & prospective employees and beyond, through a variety of owned, social and paid media channels. You will keep the team up to date on industry best practices in the social media space, drive content strategy, create detailed content plans around events and announcements, and produce creative content yourself – from TikToks and YouTube shorts to event promo cards and blog posts.
As a member of Rakuten Group's Corporate Communications Department, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with talented Rakutenians from across the Group, as well as external experts, partners and other stakeholders in a fast-paced, global environment.
Position Details
Create, edit, source, schedule and publish content for Rakuten Group's owned and social media program, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, corporate blogs and more
Work with key stakeholders and leaders from across the Rakuten Group to turn your content ideas into reality, with the goal of raising Rakuten Group's profile with global audiences to create a positive environment for business expansion
Run the Rakuten Group social media calendar, working with team members from across the department – including the domestic PR and internal comms teams – as well as external content contributors to ensure deadlines are hit and content is up to the team's high standards
Lead content planning around domestic and international events, such as Rakuten Optimism Conference, Rakuten Technology Conference, quarterly financial results, etc.
Produce reports on content performance and present to key stakeholders, offering recommendations, optimizations, and future strategy development
Play a key role in driving content strategy for Rakuten Group, particularly in social media
Lead the team's Tokyo-based internship program, working with future Rakuten new grad hires to develop their skills in digital content creation and social media management as a key mentor in their early careers
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or relevant business experience
English fluency required
3-5 years of experience in a similar role (preferably for a top tier agency, global company, or tech industry innovator)
Desired Qualifications:
Business-level Japanese preferred

Ideal candidate profile
Detail-oriented and organized: Able to maintain content calendars (using tools such as Microsoft Teams or Asana), keep documents up to date and lead cross-team projects
Analytical and data-minded: Solid understanding of blog and social media analytics, with the ability to identify key metrics and make data-based decisions to ensure the team always improves and advances
Excellent communication and writing skills: Confident writing social copy, blog posts, creative briefs, presentations, and everything in between. A love for the English language and the motivation to dig into the tech side of Rakuten to better tell our innovation story
Critical thinking and problem solving: You enjoy the challenges of tackling difficult problems and relish the opportunity to put your learnings to practice
Passionate content creator: Strong experience creating eye-catching and impactful content in a variety of mediums, with the ability to produce digital content quickly, efficiently, and independently (intermediate video production or design skills are a big plus) as well as manage internal and external content creators
Digital expert: An intuitive understanding of the different nuances, tones, and content styles of the leading social platforms so we can tailor our voice to each
