Job Title: Cost Management Specialist

Location: Japan

Cartier is seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team in Japan. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering cost management expertise to support the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Oversight
    • Deliver consistent and on-demand cost reporting for the SDP Department.
    • Spearhead the CAPEX booking process alongside Project Managers & the Finance Department.
    • Act as the pivotal liaison with departments such as Finance, Network Development, Procurement, and Legal.
  • Projects Cost Management
    • Empower Project Managers in the cost estimation by offering benchmarks and economic context insights.
    • Develop detailed cost plans and reports, ensuring comprehensive follow-up at every stage.
    • Support Project Managers in closely monitoring project cash-flow.
    • Detect and monitor cost variances from the approved budget, highlighting potential risks.
    • Assist Project Managers throughout the value engineering process.
    • Oversee project account closures and produce thorough final cost follow-up reports.
  • Procurement
    • Ensure adherence to Richemont's tendering procedures.
    • Aid Project Managers in the selection of bidders.
    • Develop the tender schedule and manage the tender launch process.
    • Organize and lead bidding process.
    • Facilitate a seamless transition from contract execution to vendor onboarding.
  • External Network
    • Actively contribute to expanding Cartier's vendor pool.
    • Assist in onboarding new vendors by providing best practices, guidelines, and feedback.
  • Communication
    • Ensure the meticulous sharing of sensitive cost-related information with stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with local project teams to roll out messages to the HQ based team.
    • Be proactive to ensure continuity in the quality of the information shared.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or quantity surveying.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction management or as a quantity surveyor in Japan.
  • A profound interest in the luxury retail environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction project life cycles and cost management.
