As a Regional Environmental Compliance Program Manager for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, you will manage regulatory environmental requirements, including Federal, State, and local regulations. You will identify environmental aspects and ensure Microsoft data centers remain in full compliance. You will communicate these requirements to all stakeholders and senior management, and provide training online and/or in person.

This opportunity will allow you to actively participate in a dynamic environment. You will work independently in-region and represent Microsoft to external and internal customers. Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Regional Environmental Compliance Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters in 32 countries and millions of servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage environmental compliance program for operating sites and handover of construction projects to operations.
  • Support operations personnel in completing regulatory obligations and addressing permit requirements.
  • Interact with facility personnel, company management, legal counsel, environmental sustainability team, and other relevant internal stakeholders to communicate environmental requirements, identify compliance issues, act as a technical resource, and coordinate on key initiatives.
  • Define and implement necessary training for facility operations personnel for managing environmental issues.
  • Support site incident investigations.
  • Interact with regulatory agency personnel on major environmental issues.
  • Monitor development of legislative changes in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, analyze potential impacts on operations, and provide updates to the site personnel.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
