You'll join our Machine Learning and Data Science experts within the AI, Insights & Solutions team. This team is part of Bain's digital capabilities practice, which includes experts in analytics, engineering, product management, and design.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll help drive innovation by integrating AI and data-driven solutions into strategy and execution.
Whether launching new ventures, reimagining user experiences, or building tech-enabled products, you'll work at the intersection of analytics and impact—turning bold strategies into breakthrough results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work with general consulting teams to understand and advise on ML aspects of business problems, and appropriately prioritize and execute
Develop statistical/ML models to be handed over to clients as prototype or production software
Transform existing prototype code into scalable, production-grade software
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools. Write, test, deploy and maintain machine learning code across the full software development lifecycle.
Collaborate on the development of re-usable common frameworks, model and components that can be highly leveraged to address common ML engineering problems across industries and business functions
Participate in agile experimentation and iterative development
Share knowledge and coach others on best practices and tools
Contribute to internal R&D and learning initiatives between projects
Explore and apply state-of-the-art AI research
Drive best demonstrated practices in software engineering, and share learnings with team members in AIS about theoretical and technical developments in ML engineering
ABOUT YOU
Must Have:
3-5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree
Strong theoretical and practical experience in machine learning
Proficiency in Python, ability to expose ML models as services for integration
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization
Familiarity with ML lifecycle and MLOps, from experimentation to deployment
Comfortable with feedback, collaboration, and autonomy
You are learning oriented, like to explore new tools and languages, and love teaching others and sharing good practices.
You like being versatile and are willing to flex and learn new skills when necessary to truly deliver value for our clients.
There may be significant travel requirements (up to 30%) due to the international nature of our businessRole based in Tokyo (Hybrid working model). Strong communication skills in Japanese
